Is there a problem with touch screen phones?

I'm thinking of buying a touchscreen mobile – Samsung S5233 Estrella. A friend told me that buying a mobile with touch screen is not so good idea cos the screen breaks so easily. Is it true? I mean a bad idea to buy a mobile with touch screen?

I have an iphone and I love it! no problem with the screen, just clean it when smear and ready again, Enjoy!
